The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He whose two days are equal (in accomplishments) is a sure loser" (Daylami). Since the end of Ramadaan how have your days been; better, equal or worse? Or are you of those who shout "Free at last at the end of Ramadaan? If the Messenger of Allaah says that about the person whose two days are equal, then what about some of us whose scales are getting lighter? As you can see from the above hadeeth, there is still a lot to be done.
Fortunately, Allaah has provided some more Opportune time to do good deeds. Ramadaan is one of those periods, but it is not the only one. There are sacred months ahead the months of Dhul Qadah, Dhul Hijjah and Muharram; and good deeds can be done at all other times of the year.
As for Dhul Hijjah, its first ten days are the best ten days in the whole year. The Messenger of Allaah said, "The ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah are the best days in the sight of Allah." A man asked, "Are these days better than an equivalent number of days that are spent fighting for the cause of Allah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) answered,(Ibn Hibban).
Concerning the month of Muharram, the best fast after that of Ramadaan is in this month of Allaah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The most excellent fast after Ramadan is God's month, al-Muharram, and the excellent prayer after what is pre....
