Allaah the Most High says:

"And I created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone) (Q51:56) 

And His statement,

"And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): Worship Allaah (alone), and avoid (or keep away from) at- Taaghuut (all false deities, etc.)" (Q16:36)

And His Statement,

"And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, And that you be dutiful to your parents." (Q17:23)

And His Statement,

"Say, (O Muhammad): Come, 1 will recite what your Lord has made forbidden for you; that you do not associate anything as partner with Him ... "(Q6:151) 

And His Statement,

"Worship Allaah and do not associate anything as a partner with Him"(Q4.:36) 

Ibn Masud (RA) said, "Whoever wants to look at the will of Muhammad (peace an~ blessings be upon him) upon which is his seal, let him read the statement of Allaah, the Most High, ""Say (O Muhammad): Come, I will recite what your Lord has made forbidden for you; that you do not associate anything as partner with Him ...(up to) ... And verily, this is My Straight Path, so follow it and do not follow the (other) ways" (Q6:151-153)

Muadh bin Jabal (RA) said, "I was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a donkey and he said to me: "O Muadh, do you know what the right of Allaah on his Slaves and what is the right of the slaves upon Allaah? I responded, "Allaah and His Messenger know best." He said, "The Right of Allaah upon the slaves is that they worship Him (alone) and not associate anything with Him. The right of the slaves upon Allaah is that He does not punish whoever does not associate anything with Him" I said, "O Messenger of Allaah, shall I not give the glad tidings to the people? He replied:

"Do not inform them lest they rely (on this promise and lapse in their service to Him)." (Bukhaaree)


1. The wisdom behind the creation of jinn and mankind.

2.The wisdom behind sending the Messengers.

3. That the Message (of at-Tawhid) encompasses (i.e. has come to) every nation.

4. That the religion of the Prophets is one (and the same).

5. The worship of Allaah cannot occur except with the rejection of at-Taaghuut (anything that is worshipped besides Allaah). Concerning this is the meaning of Allaah's Statement:

"So whoever disbelieves in at-Taaghuut and believes in Allaah, he has grasped the most, trustworthy, handle" (Q2:256).

6. That at-Taaghuut is generally applicable to all that is worshipped other than Allaah.

7. The great importance that the Salaf (early generations of the Muslims) gave to the three decisive verses of Surah al-Anaam (Q6:151-153). This verse contain ten issues, the them being the prohibition of ash-Shirk.

8. The knowledge of Allaah's right upon us.

9. The knowledge of the slaves right if they fulfil the right of Allaah.

10. The permissibility of concealing knowledge for the common goods.

11. The fear of depending solely upon the ampleness of Allaah's Mercy.

12. The statement of one who is asked about something that he does not know: "Allaah and His Messenger know best".

13. The humble nature the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in riding a donkey with another rider behind him
