He, Allah, al-Muqeet, is the Nourisher of all creation. He creates the nourishment of each of His creatures before He sends them to the world. No one can take away the nourishment destined for each creature.
"He set on the (earth) mountains standing firm high above it and bestowed blessings on the earth and measured therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion in four Days in accordance with- (the needs of) those who seek (sustenance):' (Q41 [Ha Mim]: 10)
The sustenance due to one will not run out until death overtakes him. Look at the plants, look at the birds. Think of the twins in the womb of the' mother, how each takes its' destined nourishment without trying to take away from the other and without fighting. Yet the same twins who peacefully received their sustenance ,through the mother's lifeblood, come into this world and may grow up to fight for the inheritance of their mother; as if Allah had told them:
'When you come into the world, go and fetch your own sustenance, Iam done with you' But, "There is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance depends on Allah: He knows the time and place of its temporary deposit: all is in a clear Record." (Q11[Hud]:6)
Allah is 'Alim (All-Knowing). He is Khabir (AIl- Aware). He does not forget. He does not fall into error. He is Qayyum (Self-Sustaining), Muhaymin (Watcher over His creatures), and the Lord of the universe. He does not lose sight of His creation, nor does He fail in His protection and care for it even for a second. HE who cannot ask and work for their own nourishment. For the ones who can, Allah has created means of sustenance.
Opting for unlawful means does not increase your sustenance for whatever your nourishment is and whatever you receive can only be your lot. The means do not create the sustenance/They do not even give the sustenance. The means are like pipes coming from Allah, the Nourisher. Therefore a faithful servant of Allah who believes that Allah al-Muqeet is the Creator and Giver of his nourishment until the day of his death, counts on Allah's promise alone. He opts for the lawful means.
He does not endanger his life here and in the Hereafter with evil ambition, treachery, and lying to try to get the sustenance due to others.
"Say: "Who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth? Or who is it that has power' over hearing and sight? And who is it that brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living? And who is it that rules 'and regulates all affairs?" They will soon say "Allah." Say "Will you not then show piety (to Him)?" Such is Allah your real Cherisher and Sustainer: apart from Truth what (remains) but error? How then are you turned away?" (IO [Yunus]:31-32)
