Can a Muslim have the assurance of paradise In mind?

Can a Muslim have the assurance of paradise In mind?

Alhamdulilah. All praise is due to Allah. We seek His blessings on Muhammad. As regards the question about the hereatter, the following must be at the back of our minds as Muslims;

Only Muslims will enter Paradise. Anybody who is not a Muslim can never get aqmitted into Paradise no matter how much 'good' he does in this world.  Allaah says:

"And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers". (Q 3: 85)

Clearly from this verse, we can see that a necessary condition for entering into Paradise is Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said;

"By Him (Allaah) in whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, there is none among the Jews and Christians (of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the message with which I have been sent (i. e. Islamic Monotheism), but he will be from the dwellers of the (Hell) fire. " (Muslim)

We should note that, when we say Muslims we mean everybody that believed in the message brought by the Prophets of Allaah right from the time of Noah (peace be upon him) up till the timeof the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Meaning that everybody that was alive at the. time of each of the Prophets must believe in them for them to be called Muslims. If anybody disbelieves in the message of any of the Prophets then he is a disbeliever and we can say that he is not a Muslim. Muhammad is the last of the Messengers of Allaah and everybody who hears his message must believe in it.

Secondly, there are some people that Paradise has been confirmed for and we can say that they are the people of Paradise. All the Prophets and Messengers of AI!aah will be in Paradise without any doubt. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"Prophets are in Paradise, martyrs are in Paradise and newborn babies are in Paradise'"  (Ahmad)

This hadith also shows that martyrs and newborn babies will be in Paradise. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also mentioned that ten of his companions will be in Paradise even before they died. He said: Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, Ali, Talha, Az-Zubayr, Abdul-Rahman ibn 'Awf, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, Sa'id ibn Zayd, Abu 'Ubaydah ibn Jarrah will be in Paradise (Sahih al-Jami al- Saghir)

Also the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) whofought in the Battle of Badr and those who pledged at the Treaty of Hudaibiyyah will be in Paradise (Bukhari).

Several other companions of the Prophet (peace and 91 sings be upon him) were also mentionea but because of space we may not be able to mention them here. Apart from these people that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has mentioned in various ahadith and verses of the Qur'an, all Muslims withEeman (correct belief in Allaah),

Ikhlaas (sincerity in the worship of Allaah) and good deeds will enter Paradise. Allaah says;

"Verily those who believe (in the oneness of Allaah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, shall have the Gardens of AI-Firdaus (Paradise) for their entertainment. (Q 18: 107).

Even with this, we do, not confirm Paradise for anybody because we do not know the last deeds of such a person but we can say anybody who combines the above mentioned characteristics up till the time of his death will be in Paradise.

Finally, we should note that no Muslim who has an iota of faith in him will be in Hell fire forever even if the person committed major sins. The person may be in Hell fire for sometime, but eventually, he will be admitted into Paradise with Allaah's mercy (Bukhari).

May Allah make us one of the inmates of Paradise without accounting
