Suhayb ibn Sinan (RA) relates that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
Wondrous is the case of the believer. there is good for him in everything, and it isfor him alone ... "(Muslim).
There is much good in a stick of eminence: the siwak -the chewing stick for cleaning the mouth. It is a forerunner of the toothbrush. Picking the habit of using siwak accords better health, fresher breath and above all higher rank in the sight of Allah. As the Prophet (PBUH) said:
"Using the siwak purifies the mouth and is agreeable to the Lord" (Nasai);
so, "I have impressed upon you repeatedly the importance of brushing your teeth" (Bukhari).
"Cleanliness is half of faith. ... " (Muslim)
and expressed that:
"Did I not apprehend that it would be burdensome on my people, I would prescribe use of siwak before every prayer" (Bukhari).
Hudhayfah (RA) relates that when the Prophet (PBUH) woke up from sleep, he brushed his teeth and Aisha (RA) said it was the first thing he did upon entering his house". (Muslim)
Pick up the siwak and clean your teeth regularly, it may increase your darajah (ranking) in the sight of Allah. Remember that
"whoso will have done the smallest particle of good will see it (Q99: 7);
for "... whatever good you do, surely Allah knows it well." (Q2:215)
Pick up the tempo of your iman and pick up a stick of siwak as well. It is handyto freshen the breath during Ramadan fasting.
