MUHAMMAD'S PROPHETHOOD [PEACE AND BLESSINGS OF ALLAAH BE UPON HIM]

A rocks greetings

Jabir ibn Samura [RA] reports: Allaah's Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon] once said:

"Prior to my Prophethood, a rock in Makka used to offer me greetings. I still recognize it." [Muslim]

Trees and rocks offering their greetings

It is established through authentic narranons from AIi, Jabir and Aisha that rocks and mountains would say to Allaah's Messenger, Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allaah! Ali says:

"Whenever we went for a walk in the suburbs of Makka in the early times of his Prophethood, trees and rocks we encountered would say, Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allaah!" [Tirmidhi]

Food glorifying Allaah

Abullah ibn Masud [RA] reports: We could hear food glorifying Allaah while we were eating with Allaah's Messenger, [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him].  [Bukhari]

The trembling mountain

Reports from Anas, Abu Hurayra, Uthman and Said ibn Zayd, who said: Allaah's Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], climbed up Mount Uhud, accompanied by Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman. The Mountain, either in awe of them or because of its joy, trembled. Allaah's Messenger ordered it:

"Be still, O Uhud, for on you there is a Prophet, a truthful one, and two martyrs. [Muslim]
